CAUTION


RECOMMENDED BY THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WHO)
* If you do not know if it is infected with the AIDS virus, it is best that the couple have a test before deciding on a pregnancy to prevent the child will be born infected.
* AIDS is less common in children than in adults, but it is estimated that the number of cases in children is increasing rapidly. In the three quarters of these children, the disease was caused by contracted during pregnancy or childbirth.
* Certain symptoms and illnesses are most common chronic infection of the parotid gland, recurrent bacterial infections, central nervous system abnormalities and lymphoid interstitial pneumonia. Kaposi sarcoma is uncommon in children.
* Ignorance is still one of the major risk factors for AIDS. Children and youth are most vulnerable.

* 95% of those infected live in developing or underdeveloped countries, where poverty, poor health systems and limited resources for prevention and care fuel the spread of the virus. And where ignorance is without doubt one of the most serious risk factors.
